Josh Jacobs
Talent Acquisition

1. If you were to describe your job to a 5 year old, how would you describe it?
I search for talent and sell job opportunities to those interested in the gaming industry. Once you get really good at one skill, you can be selective with the industry you want to apply these skills. I find those who want to apply those skills to the gaming world.
2. What's the most valuable thing you've learned from everyone you've interviewed?
The most valuable thing I've learned from everyone I've interviewed is that those who are able to clearly layout their top 3 areas of interest (personally / professionally) and align those with the values and understanding of the job opportunity, have a very strong shot at locking in the job. The goal of an excellent hire comes down to both parties mutually benefiting from the decision to join the team. Company acquires the skills / experience needed, while the new hire acquires the scope of the role / new jersey to go out and play for.
3. If you could thank someone that helped get you to where you are now, who would you thank and what would you say?
I would thank Marcella Estes. Marcella helped me get back on track with recruiting after taking a year off and gave me all the tools & guidance needed to be successful at AKQA. Thank you Marcella for helping me transition back into the recruitment world and I wish you nothing but continued success and good health.
