1. If you were to describe your job to a 5 year old, how would you describe it?

You see that ad that plays before that YouTube video you're about to watch? We make that! And place it there. Or, that video where the kid is unboxing the toys? Well that's a branded deal and we set up.

2. What advice do you have for people out there contemplating starting their own agency?

I've learned so much in the 4 years since starting Hour One. I wish someone had told me at the beginning that if you don't achieve the vision of success you see now, that doesn't mean you failed. I thought success looked like a 200 person agency in 3 years, but I found my success in a small, nimble and adaptable team. So be okay with change as you learn what works best for you and your clients, and stay on the road regardless. It's worth it.

3. If you could thank someone that helped get you to where you are now, who would you thank and what would you say?

Oh man, this one is tough because there's been so many people who have helped and inspired me from friends and family to mentors and former bosses. My mom started her own interior design business when she was about my age, so she was one of the first people on a flight to LA to help me with the initial business setup. But the first person I called when I said, "Hey, crazy idea..." was my best friend and soon to be business partner, Abby Lewis-Evans, who was also in the big ad agency world. She replied, "Oh we're jumping? We're doing this? Be right there." She moved from NYC a few weeks later and the rest is history. I have to give her credit too for naming "Hour One" because we had one hour to prepare for our first pitch! Then the name worked for building our philosophy around new beginnings and starting with a fresh approach.
